KENNESAW, Ga. – The season opener for the 2021-22 season for Kennesaw State men's basketball is set for Tuesday night, as the Owls and third-year head coach Amir Abdur-Rahim are on the road at Iowa State. The game will tip off at 8 pm (ET) in Hilton Coliseum in front of an expected sellout crowd. Tuesday's game is also available on the Big 12 Now ESPN+ platform.
A FEW NOTES
- Following Tuesday night's contest, the Owls will remain on the road to face Creighton on Thursday. This will be the third time KSU and the Bluejays have played, and all three games have been in Omaha.Â
- Kennesaw State is looking for a turnaround year this season, after bringing back over 90% over its scoring production and total minutes from last season. The Owls rank 16th in the nation in both categories, bringing back 93.7% of its total points and 91.8% of its total minutes.
- Iowa State meanwhile is in the exact opposite situation, as the Cyclones bring back just 13.3% of its scoring and only 20 total starts. Making up for that though are six transfers, including four from power conferences, which matched the national high.
- The Owls are 0-1 all-time against Iowa State, and 0-5 against the Big 12. This is the first time KSU has played a team from the Big 12 since a 56-41 loss at Kansas State on Nov. 9, 2018.
- Tuesday is a return for Owl assistant coach William Small, who served as an assistant coach on the ISU coaching staff from 2015-21.Â
