A FEW NOTES
♦ The Owls have been strong at home this year in the Convocation Center. KSU has averaged 90.8 ppg over its four home games while boasting a 3-1 record, which includes Sunday's record-setting 89-52 win over Charleston Southern, which was the largest win margin by the Owls ever over a Division I opponent.
♦ KSU has played a challenging non-conference schedule through the first seven games. The Owls' four losses have come at the hands of Iowa State, Creighton, Belmont and Wake Forest, with all but the Belmont game coming on the road. Those four schools have a combined 23-5 record (through Nov. 29), while ISU has moved into the Top-25 this week at No. 19.
♦ KSU is looking to snap a nine-game losing streak to Mercer. The Bears are coming into the game with an identical 3-4 mark, but are 0-3 on the road this season.
♦ Kennesaw State is looking for a turnaround year this season, after bringing back over 90% over its scoring production and total minutes from last season. The Owls rank 16th in the nation in both categories, bringing back 93.7% of its total points and 91.8% of its total minutes.
♦ KSU's experience is paying off on the offensive side, as the Owls' 77.6 ppg average through the first six games is its most-ever in the team's Division I history. If you take out the Owls' two wins over non-DI competition, KSU is still averaging 69 ppg, its most in its first five games of the year since the 2016-17 squad averaged 76.2 points on the way to an eventual 14-18 record.
