WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Kennesaw State suffered its third road loss of the season, all against Power Conference opponents, as the Owls dropped a 92-61 contest at Wake Forest from Lawrence Joel Coliseum in men's college basketball action Tuesday night. The Demon Deacons improved to 5-0 with the victory, while KSU dropped to 2-4.

The Owls could not match the offensive firepower from the home team, as KSU had two players finish in double-figures, led by sophomore Kasen Jennings' career-high 19 points. Wake Forest meanwhile finished with five players in double-figures.

STAT OF THE GAME: Wake Forest made nine more total field goals (32-23) and ten more attempts at the free throw line than KSU (18-8).

FIRST HALF: Wake Forest was hot early from three-point range, hitting its first two shots for an early 6-0 lead, though KSU came right back with five of its own to close within 6-5. The Demon Deacons would extend the lead thanks to two more three-pointers, all four coming from Isaiah Mucius. However, a Kasen Jennings trey kept the Owls within one possession of Wake Forest at 18-15 at the 12:01 mark. After the under 12-minute media timeout, the Deacs reeled off eight unanswered for a 26-15 edge. KSU stopped the run with a Spencer Rodgers jumper, before a three-point play put Wake Forest up 12 and the lead would not go below double-digits the rest of the way.

SECOND HALF: Despite the 13-point halftime deficit, the Owls came out still fighting in the second half. Every run by Wake Forest in the opening 10 minutes was answered by KSU, and a jumper from Chris Youngblood with 10:25 to go kept the deficit at 13, 62-49. A 10-0 run would put the game out of reach.

QUOTEABLE: "A tough road game for our group, but we came in with a mindset to get better, and I felt for about 33 minutes we did that. The last seven minutes of the game, we let our offense dictate our focus and effort on the defensive end. We had a chance to keep the lead where it was and we let it grow instead. We've got to grow from this and get better from this. But hats off to Wake Forest, they are a very good team, their length and ability to make shots over our defense kind of hindered us all night." – Head Coach Amir Abdur-Rahim

NOTES
-Jennings topped his previous career-high of 17 points after hitting 7-of-11 from the floor, along with a career-high tying four three-pointers (out of six attempts).
-Youngblood added 12 points. Rodgers posted seven points and a game-high nine rebounds.
-KSU shot 37.7% (23-of-61) for the game, 7-of-23 from three-point range for 30.4% and a season-low 53.3% at the line (8-of-15).
-The Owls were outrebounded by a 42-26 margin. They did force more turnovers (15-13) on the night.

NEXT TIME OUT: The Owls are off for Thanksgiving before returning to action on Sunday, November 28, with a home contest against Charleston Southern at 4 pm in the Convocation Center.
