The Kennesaw State women's soccer team heads to Fort Myers, Fla. to take on the Eagles of FGCU in a Thursday-evening tussle.
Only games within a team's division will count toward ASUN records and the Owls' trip to FGCU will begin Kennesaw State's divisional play.
Head coach
Benji Walton will hope to get his squad back into the win column after a 3-0 Lipscomb loss last Sunday.
Red-Hot Higgs
Redshirt junior
Kendall Higgs has been an efficient forward for the Owls in conference play.
After opening up her season account with a sliding goal in the 3-0 win against North Alabama, Higgs scored a crucial goal in a 4-3 overtime win against Central Arkansas. Receiving a ball from a corner kick, the forward touched the ball up in the air before smashing home on a half volley.
She has yet to be credited with an assist on the season, but has been extremely creative in both midfield and the forward line.
Stellar Schreck
Left back
Kathryn Schreck has been one of the squad's most consistent playmakers, despite playing in Walton's back line.
Her left foot has been invaluable in pivotal games for the Owls this season, bagging three assists so far with left-footed crosses and corners.
The defender has marked out a signature spot on the pitch, endangering opponent defenses as soon as she enters the opposition third on the left flank.
This is where she received the ball in the early-going of overtime against Central Arkansas, sending in a perfect cross into
Ebony Clarke for the golden goal.
Next Match
After taking on the Eagles, the Owls return to their nest of Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 10 to take on the Jacksonville Dolphins at 1 p.m.
