Hendrick and Frick Pilot Owls at ASUN Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. – 
The Kennesaw State cross country teams competed in the ASUN Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Disney Wide World of Sports.

 The women's team took home fifth place while the men's team finished ninth. Sarah Hendrick and Katie Meyer collected ASUN Second Team All-Conference honors. Gavin Frick was named to the ASUN Men's All-Freshmen Team.
 
In the women's 5K, Sarah Hendrick finished 10th with a time of 17:22.8 Katie Meyer crossed the line in 17:33.6 to finish 13th. Nyah Hernandez ran a time of 18:10.5 to finish 24th.  Anna James (18:47.7), Zoe Smith (18:54.6) and Faith Bobak (19:01.5) grabbed 51st, 56th and 59th respectively. Rachel Dodsworth rounded out the scoring for the Owls finishing 60th in a time of 19:05.09.
 
"I am really happy for Katie Meyer," head coach Adam Bray said. "She has been a tremendous person and major influence on this team. She has been here since I was hired and has always believed in Kennesaw State XC. She has believed in me as a coach. I have become a better coach because of her. I am forever grateful that we crossed paths her. Thank you to Katie Meyer."
 
Gavin Frick paced the Owls in the men's 8k race with a time of 25:09.0. Mekhi Williams (25:30.7) and Koi Williams (25:41.7) finished 33rd and 41st respectively. Jack Stansell crossed the line in a time of 26:37.7 to take 67th. Cameron Paulk ran 27:25.3 while Kameron Jackson added a time of 27:40.0 to finish 76th and 79th respectively. Joe Pontrelli rounded out the scoring for the Owls finishing 92nd in a time of 29:27.6.
 
"Congrats also to Nyah, Sarah and Gavin on their individual All-Conference selections", Bray added."
 
The Owls will travel to Huntsville, Ala. for the NCAA South Regional on Friday, November 12.
