NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Kennesaw State women's soccer team lost 3-0 to the Lipscomb Bisons in a rainy Sunday contest at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.
"I thought Lipscomb outworked us early in the game," said head coach Benji Walton. "It took us a while to get going and we needed to do better with the details. We weren't quite as efficient as we were on Thursday, and we got punished for it. We've got to look in the mirror, regroup, and refocus because divisional play starts on Thursday and we've got a tough opponent in FGCU. I'm proud that we fought and as the game wore on, we fought harder and harder. Unfortunately, the breaks just didn't swing in our direction."
The Owls carved out the first big chance, as a corner kick bounced all the way to the back post where Erin Miller hit the woodwork with a close-range shot
KSU conceded a penalty with a foul in the box, allowing the Bisons to take a 1-0 lead in the 42nd minute.
After Lipscomb took a 2-0 advantage, the Owls had a chance through Agata Giani cleared off the goal line.
The final whistle blew with a 3-0 scoreline, with Lipscomb scoring on its final shot of the game.
The Owls will return to the practice field to prepare for a Thursday night tussle in Fort Myers, Fla. against FGCU at 7 p.m.
