KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's soccer team were dealt a tough pill to swallow, dropping a 3-2 double-overtime thriller to Liberty on Saturday afternoon in the Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
The Owls were able to take a 2-0 advantage thanks to the playmaking skills of Caeden Price, who created the first goals of the season for Jenna Vollrath and Agata Giani; however, the Flames crawled back to score the equalizer with just 20 seconds left on the clock.
The Flames scored the golden goal in the second period of overtime, leapfrogging the Owls in the eastern-division standings.
Despite the result, Kennesaw State qualifies for the quarterfinals of the ASUN Conference Tournament.
Playoffs begin next weekend, with details on the date, time and place still to come.
