Box Score (PDF) | Box Score (XML)

KENNESAW, Ga. -  After surrendering an early 3-0 deficit, Kennesaw State (10-6) battled back, earning a 6-5 victory to give the Owls a 3-1 series victory over Brown.

In the eighth inning, with the game tied at three runs apiece, Nick Hassan singled to left field which scored Joseph Gossett and gave the Owls their first lead of the game. Later that inning Tyler Simon hit a two RBI double to left field which scored Hassan and Logan Fink and put the game away for KSU.

After giving up a run in the first inning and allowing another two runs with one out in the fifth, the game appeared to be getting away from KSU. With the bases loaded and just one out, pitcher Sterling Richardson forced Brown into the double play to get out of the inning. In the next at bat for KSU, Fink hit his second double of the day to left field to swing the momentum in the Owls favor. Later that inning, Ryan Smith singled up the middle which scored Fink and gave KSU its first run of the game.

Hassan had another amazing day at the plate further cementing himself as a fixture in KSU's lineup. He went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, two RBI's, and a run scored.

Nathan Dupree (1-0) earned the win for the Owls lasting 2.0 innings while giving up two hits, two earned runs, and one strikeout.

The Owls next take the field against Jacksonville State on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Stillwell Stadium.
