CONWAY, S.C. – After a blistering start to the game in which the Owls put up eight runs in the first inning, the Kennesaw State baseball team led wire-to-wire for a 12-0 victory over Western Carolina on day two of the Brittain Resorts Invitational.

The Owls (4-2) scored eight runs on four hits in the first inning. The first two runs of the frame came on a double to right field from
Garrett Hodges and later in the inning
Tyler Tolve ripped a triple to right center to clear the bases and cap an eight-run inning.

Kennesaw State continued its offensive onslaught with two runs in the third inning and two more in the eighth to secure the 12-0 victory.
Nick Colina led the way out of the leadoff spot with two hits, two runs scored and two runs batted in, while
Logan Fink added a pair of base knocks and two runs batted in.

Gage Vailes got the start and lasted 2.1 innings with four strikeouts, but
Brayden Eidson came out of the bullpen and picked up the win, tossing 4.2 innings and allowing just one hit, while fanning two.

Bowen Bock and
Malik Spratling put the finishing touches the Owls' first shutout of the year, both tossing scoreless innings to close out the game.

Kennesaw State is back in action Sunday afternoon at Springs Brooks Stadium, taking on Coastal Carolina with first pitch scheduled for 12-noon.
