KENNESAW, Ga. – With the Kennesaw State football season moving to the spring, head coach
Brian Bohannon announced two non-conference home games on Thursday, including the season opener on Feb. 27.
Â
The Owls are set to open the spring 2021 season on Saturday, Feb. 27, hosting Shorter University at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. It will be the second meeting between the two programs after Kennesaw State knocked off the Hawks 18-10 during its inaugural season in 2015.
Â
KSU has also signed a deal to bring first-year FCS program Dixie State to town on March 20, 2021, with a return trip to St. George, Utah scheduled during the 2025 season. Dixie State is transitioning from NCAA Division II, playing their inaugural Division I FCS season this spring.
Â
The Big South Conference schedule will be released in the coming days, as the Owls bid for their third league championship in the last four seasons and their fourth consecutive FCS Playoffs appearance.
Â
In the only released top-25 poll of the year, Kennesaw State checked in at No. 10 in the STATS FCS ranking. KSU has been ranked in the top 25 for 35 straight polls dating back to Oct. 30 of the 2017 season, giving Kennesaw State 1,103 consecutive days in the national rankings.
