KENNESAW, Ga. –
Six home games, including four non-conference contests, highlight the 2020 Kennesaw State football schedule, the program's sixth season of competition.

The Owls head into year six as the most successful five-year start-up program in college football history, posting 48 victories and surpassing Georgia Southern (47) and Old Dominion (46) during the final two weeks of last season.

KSU is the only start-up program in college football history to post three consecutive 11-win seasons during its first five years of competition, and the Owls are joined by North Dakota State as the only FCS programs to post 11-plus wins in each of the last three years.

The Owls kick off the 2020 season against Point University on Sept. 5, KSU's latest kickoff date on the calendar in program history. The following week, Kennesaw State travels to Kent State (Sept. 12) for a rematch with the Golden Flashes. In 2019, the Owls took Kent State to overtime, but fell 26-23 to a team that went on to record seven wins, including its first bowl victory in program history.

KSU then returns home to Fifth Third Bank Stadium for three straight contests, hosting Alabama State on Sept. 19, before Tarleton State comes to town on Sept. 26.

Tarleton State is making the transition from Division II to Division I FCS where it has won back-to-back conference championships and posted a 23-2 record during the last two seasons. The Texans of Tarleton State replace Missouri State on the schedule in 2020 as the return trip from the Bears has been moved to the 2025 season.

KSU rounds out its three-game homestand with Samford on Oct. 3, a matchup that has produced three thrilling games with the Owls holding a 2-1 advantage. In the matchups against the Bulldogs, 14 points has been the largest margin of victory, a game Kennesaw State won 24-10 on Sept. 29, 2018.

The Owls continue play on Oct. 10, traveling to Florence, Alabama for the first time in program history to battle North Alabama.

Following the open week on Oct. 17, KSU begins a journey for their third Big South Conference championship in four years at Gardner-Webb on Oct. 24, before the Owls play host to Hampton University for a Halloween showdown on Oct. 31.

Charleston Southern awaits on Nov. 7, when the Owls travel to South Carolina for the sixth meeting between the two programs. KSU holds a 3-2 advantage and has won the last three meetings.

The senior class will be recognized on Nov. 14, as Campbell comes to town and the Owls look to remain unbeaten against the Camels.

The regular season wraps up on Nov. 21 with a trip to New Jersey for a battle with Monmouth, a matchup that has decided the Big South Conference championship each of the last three seasons.

Kennesaw State made the FCS Playoffs for the third consecutive season in 2019 and received its first at-large bid to the 24-team field. With its victory over Wofford in the opening round, KSU became one of five programs in the nation with a playoff victory in each of the last three seasons.
