KENNESAW, Ga.- Looking for its first program win against a Missouri Valley Football Conference opponent in program history, No. 6 Kennesaw State will travel to Springfield, Mo., for a Saturday (Sept. 21) tilt against Missouri State.

Top Storylines
• Kennesaw State is back on the road for the third straight week this Saturday, traveling to the Show Me State for its first meeting against Missouri State.
• The Owls are 0-1 all-time against teams from the Missouri Valley Football Conference. The lone meeting came last year in the quarterfinals of the FCS Playoffs, falling to No. 2 South Dakota State 27-17 at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.
• After falling to Kent State 26-23 in overtime in week two, the Owls bounced back with an impressive 42-7 thumping of Alabama State last Saturday. The Owls are 7-0 in their last seven games following a loss, outscoring opponents 293-103 in those contests.
• The Owls currently lead all Division I football teams (FBS & FCS) in rushing offense at 388.7 yards per game. Kennesaw State has finished in the top three nationally in rushing offense each of the last three years, including a program-best and Big South record 352.9 yards per game last season.
• Kennesaw State's 481 rushing yards against Alabama State are the most rushing yards in a game this season for an FCS program and the second-most in all of college football behind South Carolina's 493 yards on the ground against Charleston Southern.
• Kennesaw State is the only FCS program in the country to rank in the top five in total offense and total defense. The Owls rank No. 2 in the country in defense, surrendering just 222.7 yards per game, while ranking No. 5 on offense, gaining 516.3 yards per contest.

Joel Parker had a career game last Saturday against Alabama State, recording 3.0 sacks and adding 6.0 tackles for loss. He is the only player in Division I football (FBS & FCS) this year with 3.0 sacks and 6.0 TFL's in a game. Parker leads all FCS freshmen with 7.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks.
• KSU's 19 consecutive regular season FCS wins are the most in Big South Conference history. The Owls have also won their last 10 regular season non-conference FCS contests, which is the third-longest streak in league history.
• Dating back to Week 2 of the 2017 season, KSU has won 25 of its last 29 games, including going 5-2 against FCS ranked teams.
Noting Missouri State
• Missouri State opened the year with back-to-back losses, falling to Northern Arizona and Tulane.
• MSU was picked to finish 10th in the Missouri Valley Football Conference 2019 preseason poll.
• The Bears return 44 letterwinners and 13 total starters from last year's 4-7 squad.
• Through two games, the Bears are being outscored 95-29, including 58-12 in the first half.
• Quarterback Peyton Huslig has passed for 417 yards and three touchdowns in the first two games and completed 56.7 percent of his passes.
• Tyler Currie leads the wide receivers with eight catches for 122 yards and one score.
• McNeece Egbim and Matt McClellan lead the defense with 13 tackles each, while Tyler Lovelace is responsible for the only interception on the team.
• Donovan Daniels paces the running backs at 20.5 yards per game on the ground. The Bears are still in search of their first rushing score this year.
