KENNESAW, Ga.- The No. 7 Kennesaw State football team travels to Alabama State on Saturday (Sept. 14) for the second time in program history. The last time the Owls traveled to Montgomery, Ala., KSU came away with a 20-14 win on Sept. 16, 2017.

Top Storylines
• Kennesaw State hits the road Saturday for the second of three straight road games, traveling to Alabama State to play the Hornets for the third consecutive year.
• The Owl are 2-0 all-time against Alabama State, outscoring the Hornets 82-27 the last two seasons.
• After falling to Kent State 26-23 in overtime in week two, the Owls are 0-2 all-time against FBS opponents, losing the two games by a combined seven points. KSU is 1-2 in overtime games as a program.
• KSU has not lost consecutive games in a season since the program's inaugural season in 2015. The Owls have played 40 games during the last two years without losing back-to-back contests.
• KSU's 18 consecutive regular season FCS wins are the most in Big South Conference history, including two against Alabama State. The Owls have also won their last nine regular season non-conference FCS contests, which is the third-longest streak in league history.
• KSU recorded its sixth shutout in program history in the season opener and posted its largest margin of victory with a 59-0 victory over NAIA member Point University. • With the season-opening victory, the Owls have not lost a regular season home contest since Oct. 15, 2016, winning 14 consecutive games.
• Kennesaw State entered the 2019 season looking to become the first team in Big South history to win three straight outright conference championships.
• Dating back to Week 2 of the 2017 season, KSU has won 24 of its last 28 games, including going 5-2 against FCS ranked teams.
• Kennesaw State has finished in the top three nationally in rushing offense each of the last three years, including a program-best and Big South record 352.9 yards per game last season.
• Kennesaw State leads the Big South Conference in 16 team statistical categories, including scoring offense at 41.0 ppg and scoring defense at just 13.0 ppg.
Noting Alabama State
• Alabama State opened the year with a 24- 19 loss at UAB. • In week two, the Hornets picked up their first win of the season against Tuskegee 38- 31 in Montgomery.
• Alabama State (4-7, 3-4 a season ago), was picked behind defending champion Alcorn State in the East Division. Alabama A&M and Jackson State were each picked above the Hornets in the preseason poll, while Mississippi Valley State was picked to finish fifth.
• Alabama State had five players selected as Preseason All-SWAC list (Christian Clark, Darron Johnson, Anthony Craven, Ezra Gray and Joshua Hill).
•Duran Bell was named the Newcomer of the Week after he finished with a career-high 112 yards on 10 carries in the Hornets' 24-19 loss to FBS-member and defending Conference USA champion UAB.
• Anthony Craven was one of 28 punters from across the country named to the inaugural FCS Punter of the Year Preseason Watch List, announced by the Augusta Sports Council Friday morning.
• Sophomore wide receiver Michael Jefferson was incredible against Tuskegee, hauling in five receptions for 174 yards and three touchdowns.
