KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State softball team completed a perfect weekend as it closed out play in the Bobbie Bailey Memorial Tournament with a pair of victories over Wright State and Saint Louis Sunday at Bailey Park.
Behind the solid pitching of junior
Abby Deane, the Owls (15-11) defeated Wright State, 7-1, before capping the day with a 6-3 win over Saint Louis to extend their season-long winning streak to 10 games.
Deane (5-3) tossed a complete-game one-hitter against Wright State before coming on in relief against Saint Louis to earn her second save of the season.
Offensively, Kennesaw State was led by freshman
Christen Florence who went 4-for-5 with a run scored and three RBIs, and four hits, two runs scored and an RBI from senior
Kira Czyrklis.

After allowing an unearned run in the first inning, Deane limited the Raiders to one hit, worked around six walks and struck out five to earn the victory. The Owls broke a 1-1 tie in the third inning as
Hannah Thomason opened the frame with a leadoff triple and
Maddie Roth followed with an RBI single.
Katie Greep drove in the final run with a two-out single.
Florence had the big hit in a three-run fifth inning, producing a two-run pinch-hit single in down the left field line.
Faith Alexander capped the scoring with an RBI base hit that gave KSU a 7-1 lead.

Thomason, Czyrklis and Greep each collected two hits and
Brea Dickey had a big three-run single to highlight an 11-hit attack for the Owls. Elzey (3-2) earned the win after pitching five innings, allowing 11 hits, three runs and striking out one. Deane notched the save after tossing two innings, walking three and striking out one.
Kennesaw State has its final tune-up before the start of ASUN Conference play next weekend when it travels to Alabama on Wednesday to take on Jacksonville State in a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m. (ET).
