JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – The Kennesaw State softball team dropped a doubleheader at Jacksonville State on Wednesday.

The Owls (15-13), who had their 10-game winning streak snapped in game one, fell 2-0 and 7-6 to the Gamecocks (13-6).

After coming up on the short end of a pitcher's duel in game one, Kennesaw State fell victim to a late-inning rally by Jacksonville State in the nightcap.

Faith Alexander produced singles against Jacksonville State starter Faith Sims, who allowed two hits and struck out 10.Â
Hailey Andrews (7-7) suffered the loss after surrendering five hits, two runs and striking out five. The Gamecocks scored on a two-run home run by Karsen Mosley.

Kira Czyrklis went 3-for-3 with a run scored and RBI to lead a nine hit attack, whileÂ
Jade Lee had two hits, Roth drove in a pair of runs and Solozano hit her team-leading eighth home run of the season. Jacksonville State overcame a 6-4 deficit with a three-run fifth inning to take a 7-6 lead. KSU threatened in the sixth in seventh, putting runners in scoring position in each inning but was unable to produce the big hit and finished the game leaving 12 runners on base.

Kennesaw State opens ASUN Conference play Friday when it hosts Liberty in a doubleheader at Bailey Park beginning at 3 p.m.
