KENNESAW, Ga.
– It was a special day for the Kennesaw State women's basketball program as it hosted Pink Day against NJIT. The Owls rolled over NJIT 70-47 in front of a raucous crowd in the KSU Convocation Center.

On the first possession of the game for the Owls, Alexis Poole ignited the Convocation Center and the Owls' offense with a strong offensive rebound and put-back for the early 2-0 lead. Street ended the quarter with a jump-stop that gave her nine points and the Owls the 19-6.

Carlotta Gianolla pushed the Kennesaw State lead to 15 points with 8:33 in the second frame after a turnaround jump shot on the right block. After going through a 4 minute and 14 second scoring drought, Lexi Mann put in a baseline jump shot and Hoover swished a 3-pointer to give the Owls a 30-14 lead. Mann scored six points in the quarter, which proved to be momentum for the Owls to hold a 36-20 advantage at the half.

The second half started slowly for the Owls' offense as they did not score a point until 4:52 mark, and the Highlanders took advantage, by cutting the lead to 36-29 with under-five minutes to play in the third quarter. The Owls made their first field goal at the 3:33 tick when Hoover buried a corner 3-pointer that pushed the lead back to 11, 40-29. Mann ended the quarter with two free throws that put the Owls on top, 45-32 going into the final frame.
