KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State volleyball team fell to the hands of the visiting Bisons Saturday night as Lipscomb downed the Owls in straight sets, 25-19, 25-23, 25-13, on Senior Night at the Convocation Center.

How it Happened: KSU (16-8, 9-3) and Lipscomb (12-11, 8-4) fought hard in the opening minutes, trading points until a 5-1 run gave the Bisons a 12-7 lead. The Owls managed to pull back to within one, 18-17, following back-to-back kills from
Dani Ballou and a kill from
Emma Schurfranz. Lipscomb maintained its one-point lead before closing out the set on a 5-0 run to earn the 25-19 victory.

The second set was a similar affair as both squads traded runs. The Owls earned the upper hand as a kill from
Lauren Chastang sparked an 8-1 run to give KSU a 15-11 advantage. Lipscomb answered immediately with a 3-0 run to pull within one as the teams proceeded to go point-for-point once again. A 3-0 run put the Owls on the doorstep leading 23-20, but Lipscomb did not back down, closing out the set on yet another 5-0 run to steal the set from underneath KSU with a 25-23 win.

Lipscomb kept the momentum rolling in the third set, jumping out to a 5-1 lead. The Owls cut into the lead behind back-to-back aces from
Karlee Groover to make it 11-9, but the Bisons pulled away with a 5-0 run. Lipscomb did not let up scoring eight of the final 10 points to record a 25-13 set victory. The Bisons finished the third set hitting .400 with only one error while the Owls hit -.114.
