KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State women's lacrosse team bolstered its future ranks, signing nine new recruits to the 2020 freshman class during the November early signing period.
"This is a strong class that has a lot of potential," said Maness. "they will need to work extremely hard to continue to elevate the brand of lacrosse we have come to expect at KSU, but my staff and I feel that they are up for the challenge!"
The Owls will add four homegrown talents out of Georgia, including three from a tremendous Lassiter High School program, while adding another four east coast signees.
Errin Crowe | Goalkeeper | Lassiter HS | Marietta, Ga.
A three-sport athlete out of local Lassiter High School, Errin Crowe lettered in softball, basketball and lacrosse, starting in the net for the Trojans the past two seasons. Crowe helped lead Lassiter to three straight Area 4 6A/7A championships from 2017-19, going a perfect 7-0 in regional play in 2019. Crowe plays her club ball with the Atlanta Storm and also received offers from Louisville, Young Harris College and New Hampshire.
Coach's thoughts: "Errin is a fantastic goalkeeper. She is very athletic and is capable of making great plays in the cage."
Rachel Price | Defender | Lassiter HS | Marietta, Ga.
A three-year starter for Lassiter HS, Rachel Price was named an all-state selection in 2019. Price helped lead the Trojans to the 2018 GHSA 6A/7A Girls State Championship match where they fell by one goal to rival Milton, 11-10. Named first-team all-state in 2018 and 2019. Finished her sophomore campaign second on the team for ground balls and third for draw controls and caused turnovers. Price also received an offer from ASUN rival Liberty.
Coach's thoughts: "Rachel is a strong defender that plays aggressively and communicates well on the defensive end."
Lily Wisdom | Attacker | Lassiter HS | Marietta. Ga.
The third Trojan to join the Owls in 2020, Lily Wisdom has started on the Lassiter varsity lacrosse team all three seasons. Wisdom earned first-team all-state accolades in 2019. She helped lead Lassiter to three straight Area 4 6A/7A championships from 2017-19.
Coach's thoughts: "Lily is a great attacker that has a quick style of play that will translate nicely to the collegiate level."
"[Errin Crowe, Rachel Price and Lily Wisdom] are all from a tremendous Lassiter High School program and will be rejoining former teammate and current freshman Avery Kiewit," said coach Maness. "They all play so well together and I hope that they can quickly adapt and gel with the team."
Brooklyn Hill | Midfielder | Kell HS | Marietta, Ga.
A two-sport athlete out of Kell HS, Brooklyn Hill played both basketball and lacrosse for the Longhorns. She helped lead Kell to an elite eight appearance in the 2019 GHSA 5A-A State Lacrosse Championships, falling to eventual runner's up Blessed Trinity by one goal, 10-9.
Coach's thoughts: "Brooklyn is very athletic and an all-around player. She impressed me at our summer camp, especially on the draw. She is very scrappy and aggressive."
Caroline Farley | Midfielder | IMG Academy | Costa Mesa, Calif.
Caroline Farley played two seasons at Newport Harbor High School before transferring to the IMG Academy for her junior and senior seasons. Led the Newport team with 45 total goals and 140 draw controls her sophomore season while adding 41 groundballs.
Coach's thoughts: "Caroline brings a tremendous amount of dedication to her game. Her size and athleticism will be a huge asset to us as she is very strong through the midfield."
Hannah Barth | Attacker | Herndon HS | Herndon, Va.
Lettering in lacrosse, field hockey and basketball, Hannah Barth heads to KSU all the way from Herndon High School in Virginia. Barth helped guide the Hornets to an 11-3 overall record in 2019, earning All-District 6A honorable mention accolades. She picked up those same honors in 2017 as a freshman. Barth also dominated on the Herndon field hockey team with first team all-district accolades this past season.
Coach's thoughts: "Hannah is a quick attacker who brings a load of lacrosse IQ to our offense. She is a work horse who will be a big scoring threat. I like her work ethic and passion for the game."
Julia Dell'Angelo | Attacker | Notre Dame HS | Lawrenceville, N.J.
A two-year varsity starter for Notre Dame High School, Julia Dell'Angelo helped lead the Irish to a 2019 sectional championship and final four appearance in the New Jersey state tournament. The Irish finished the season 13-4 overall with Dell'Angelo earning second team all-conference honors. She finished the 2019 campaign with 43 total goals, netting three or more in seven games, to go along with 26 assists.
Coach's thoughts: "Julia is a quick, scrappy midfielder. She is a workhorse who continually pushes her limits every time she takes the field."
Julia Weiss | Goalkeeper | South Carroll HS | Sykesville, Md.
A two-time all-county selection in 2018 and 2019, Julia Weiss helped lead South Carroll to its first ever state title in 2019, defeating Hereford HS 10-9 in the Class 2A championship. The Cavaliers finished the season with a 17-1 overall record. Weiss is a member of the Heros 2020 Green club team. She also received an offer from UMBC.
Coach's thoughts: "Julia is a strong goalkeeper who will help solidify our backfield. She will be rejoining high school teammate Abbey Behn from South Carrol High School."
Molly May | Attacker | Radnor HS | Radnor, Pa.
Helped Radnor High School reach the 2A State Semifinals in 2018 followed by a quarterfinal berth in 2019 after making the transition to 3A. Named a 2018 Second Team All Main-Line and Philadelphia All-Central selection. A part of the 2018 Under Armour 150 championship team. A member and coach of the NXT Lacrosse Club. Represented Pennsylvania at the 2016 Brine National Lacrosse Tournament.
Coach's thoughts: "Molly is a true crease attacker. She is a dual threat to feed and dodge. I think her decision making is very strong and she is someone I can see quarterbacking the offense."
