No. 4 Football Battles Monmouth On Military Appreciation Day

KENNESAW, Ga.- The fourth-ranked Kennesaw State Owls look to win their seventh-straight game as they welcome Big South opponent Monmouth on Saturday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium for a 2 p.m. kickoff.

Active military and first responders, including police, EMS, rescuers and firefighters, will receive a free ticket with each valid identification card. Friends and family of the honoree will receive a discounted $5 ticket, which will be redeemable at the box office.

ADA Parking Update
For the remainder of the season, ADA parking will be available in the Student Center Visitor Lot on campus. The Big Owl Bus will stop in front of the Siegel Student Recreation Center for transport to the stadium. Click here to view a campus map.

Top Storylines
• Kennesaw State continues its quest for another championship on Saturday, welcoming Monmouth to town as the Owls start a stretch of four straight conference games to end the regular season.
• Monmouth enters Saturday's game with an 11-2 record in its last 13 Big South Conference games. Both losses have come to Kennesaw State with the Owls posting a 4-0 record all time against the Hawks, including clinching the 2018 league title on Monmouth's home field.
• The Hawks are receiving votes in both FCS top 25 polls after making the FCS Playoffs in 2017 and being one of the first three teams left out of the field in 2018.
• Kennesaw State is 2-0 in league play for the third straight year and is looking to become the first team in Big South history to win three straight outright conference championships.
• KSU is joined by Dartmouth as the only FCS teams in the country to rank in the top three in the nation in scoring offense and scoring defense. The Owls rank No. 3 in offense (41.4) and No. 3 in defense (14.3).
• The Owls currently lead all FCS teams in total defense, surrendering just 259.0 yards per game. KSU is 11.0 yards ahead of Central Connecticut State and 11.6 yards in front of top-ranked North Dakota State.
• Kennesaw State leads all Division I FBS and FCS football teams in rushing yards per game and rushing touchdowns. The Owls are averaging 369.5 yards per game on the ground, while rushing for 37 scores.
• Dating back to Week 2 of the 2017 season, Kennesaw State has won 30 of its last 34 games for an 88.2 winning percentage.
• The Owls have not lost a regular season home contest since Oct. 15, 2016, winning 17 consecutive games during the last four seasons.
• Kennesaw State has won 23 consecutive regular season games against FCS opponents, dating back to week two of the 2017 season.
• The Owls have won 12 consecutive Big South Conference games, the second longest streak in league history. Liberty holds the record at 16 from 2006-09, a mark KSU would match with a perfect league record in 2019.
• Kennesaw State has now been ranked in the top-25 for 29 consecutive week.

Noting Monmouth
• Monmouth comes to Fifth Third Bank Stadium as one of the hottest FCS teams in the country, winning four straight contests and 11 of its last 13 league games.
• The Hawks rank No. 2 in the Big South Conference in scoring defense, giving up just 25.8 points per game. In its last three meetings against Kennesaw State, Monmouth has given up 152 total points.
• Monmouth is 3-0 in league play for the third straight season under head coach Kevin Callahan, who is in his 27th year at the helm of the Hawks. Callahan sports an overall record of 158-123 for MU and is eighth in total wins among active FCS coaches.
• Senior quarterback Kenji Bahar became the school's all-time passing leader last Saturday against Charleston Southern, accumulating 8,000 career passing yards in 42 career games.
• Junior running back Pete Guerriero finished with a career-high 221 rushing yards last week to surpass 1,000 yards on the ground for the second time in his career. He has 3,001 career rushing yards and 25 TD's on the ground.
• Senior linebacker Da'Quan Grimes leads Monmouth with a team-high 54 tackles, including 7.5 tackles for loss. Junior defensive back Anthony Budd is second in the nation with five interceptions on the year and one pick shy of the school record.
• Receivers Lonnie Moore (46) and Terrance Greene, Jr. (36) both have more receptions than Kennesaw State's 34 completions as a team.
