KENNESAW, Ga. - For the first time in program history, No. 4 Kennesaw State did not complete a pass, but it did not matter as the Owls ran for a season-high 492 yards to roll North Alabama 41-17 on a wet, windy afternoon at Fifth Third Bank Stadium.

Kennesaw State found itself down early after surrendering a touchdown on the opening drive. The Lions capped off a 65-yard drive with a four-yard touchdown to take the first lead of the game with 11:29 in the opening quarter.

The Owls marched down the field midway through the first quarter asÂ
Daniel David orchestrated a nine-play, 85-yard drive and capped it off with his 12
th rushing touchdown of the season to cut UNA's lead to one point after the PAT was blocked. Adelolu Adeleke aided the drive with a 30-yard scamper down the left sideline.

David etched his fourth multi-rushing touchdown game of the season just 12 minutes into the second quarter with a 13-yard rush up the middle. With the rush, Kennesaw State took its first lead of the day, 13-7, with 11:54 in the half. North Alabama answered with a play action pass from 28 yards out to take a 14-13 lead at the 9:03 mark in the second quarter.

Kevin Ficklin then put the Owls back on top with a 17-yard rush around the right end with just under five minutes left in the half. On the ensuing offensive possession for the Owls, Ficklin scored once again, sprinting from 30 yards out to extend the KSU lead to 27-17 at the half.

At the break, the Owls out-rushed the Lions 316-13.

The Owls opened the second half with an impressive 15 play, 63 yard drive that concluded with a two-yard touchdown rush from David, which tied his career-high. The touchdown marked the fifth-straight drive in which the Owls scored a touchdown.

KSU's defense was stout in the third quarter and allowed just 13 yards by the Lions.

Jonathan Murphy made his Owls debut in the third quarter and went on to lead a touchdown drive on his second possession under center. Through his first two drives, Murphy collected 72 yards and a touchdown.

The Owls continued to grind out the game and finished off the Lions, 41-17, to win their 23rd-straight regular season FCS game.
