Quick Hits
» The Kennesaw State Owls are back in the nest for a split weekend, hosting North Alabama Friday night at 7 p.m. before heading to FGCU Sunday at 2 p.m. The Sunday showdown will have a major impact on the ASUN standings as the Owls and Eagles have been some of the top dogs in the league as of late, squaring off in the ASUN Tournament championship the last two years running.

» Quin Sutphin continues to dominate at the net, hitting well over .300 in her last five matches. She is third in the conference in hitting percentage, being one of only six players to hit over .300 on the year. Sutphin has committed only five errors over the last four matches, hitting .480 over the current five-match stretch.

» The Owls have one of the most formidable attacks in the ASUN, ranked second with a 13.69 kills per set average, one of three teams to average over 13 kills per set. That mark is also good enough for 27th in the country. So far this year, five Owls have hit the century mark in kills led by Lauren Chastang with 227 and followed by Quin Sutphin (155), Emma Schurfranz (136), Jasmine Brown (115) and Dani Ballou (110).

» Lauren Chastang recorded her eighth double-double of the season at Lipscomb with 12 kills and 10 digs. She leads the Owls in total kills this season with 227, placing her fifth in the league for overall kills and fourth in kills per set (3.66). Chastang is also 13th in the league with 167 digs on the year.

» The Owls are on track to set a new standard from the service line this season, averaging 1.87 aces per set to lead the ASUN and rank 16th in the NCAA. KSU's 107 total aces on the year ranks 12th in the country. Lauren Chastang is currently ranked ninth in the nation for total aces (34) and 10th for aces per set (0.55). She is one of four Owls ranked in the ASUN's top-15 with Karlee Groover in fourth with 23 aces, followed by Bri Becerra in 10th with 17 and Lexi Broadwater in 13th with 15.

Dr. Quin
Quin Sutphin has been surgical on the attack as of late, hitting .300 or better in the last six matches, committing only eight errors in that span while racking up 56 kills.

Sutphin currently leads the Owls and ranks third in the ASUN hitting .346 on the year. She has recorded a hitting percentage over .300 in 11 matches so far this year, .400 or better in seven.

The Fort Mill, S.C., native is hitting .480 over the current five-match span.

Sutphin is second on the team with 155 total kills, ranking seventh in the ASUN with a 2.92 kills per set average. She has recorded double-digit kills in eight matches, including an impressive 21 kills at Alabama where she hit a blistering .679, both career-high marks.

Set Up For Success
Following her ninth match this season recording over 40 assists at Lipscomb, Lexi Broadwater continues to be one of the top setters in the ASUN, averaging 11.31 assists per set. She is one of two players in the league to average over 11 assists per set, ranking 12th in the NCAA.

Her 701 total assists ranks fourth in the nation, making her one of four players in the NCAA to tally over 700 assists on the year.

Setting a career-high 63 assists against Furman, the senior tied the second-most assists ever in a single-match. In program history, an Owl has recorded over 60 assists in a match seven times, two of which have been Broadwater.

With 2,143 assists in her career, Broadwater is one of three players in program history to record over 2,000 career assists. Currently averaging 10.45 assists per set for her career, if maintained, she would set the new program career record.

Killing the Game
As a team, KSU is one of three teams in the league averaging over 13 kills per set (13.69), ranking second in the league and 27th in the NCAA.

If maintained, it would mark the third straight season, third time in program history, KSU has averaged over 13 kills per set in a season.

So far this year, KSU has recorded over 70 kills in three matches, Georgia Tech (71), Furman (76) and Samford (71), falling three kills shy of the current record against Furman. Before the season, KSU had only recorded over 70 kills in eight matches all-time, the most recent coming against USC Upstate in 2016.

Lauren Chastang and Quin Sutphin both rank in the ASUN's top-10 for kills with Chastang ranked fifth with 227 followed by Sutphin in ninth with 155. The Owls are one of three teams, the other two being North Florida and Jacksonville, to have two players ranked in the league's top-10 for kills.

We Can Dig It
Karlee Groover heads into the weekend after earning her second ASUN Defensive Player of the Week Award this past Monday.

The Newnan, Ga., native totaled 22 digs at Lipscomb to mark her fifth match this year with over 20 digs. She currently ranks fifth in the ASUN averaging 4.27 digs per set. Groover is one of five players in the league to record over 250 digs this season, ranked fourth with 265 total.

Pocket Aces
The Owls have been lights out from the service line this year, serving up 116 aces to rank 15th in the country. KSU is averaging 1.87 aces per set, a mark that would break the single-season record, to rank 12th in the NCAA.

Six Owls have recorded at least 10 aces so far this year with Lauren Chastang's 34 currently ranked ninth in the NCAA. Her current season total is already ranked fourth on the KSU single-season record list, needing just five more to tie Lexi Broadwater's mark set last season.

Karlee Groover is second on the team, fourth in the ASUN, with 23 while Bri Becerra ranks 10th with 17.

The Film Room
UNA heads to KSU looking to pull out of its three-match skid after winning its ASUN opener at NJIT. The Lions are coming off two straight sweeps by Jacksonville and Lipscomb.

The Lions are led by freshman Alyssa Dutton who has recorded 115 kills on the year.

The Owls look to get revenge in Sunday's match at FGCU after falling to the Eagles in last year's ASUN Championship 3-2. FGCU is 14-3 overall and 4-1 in the ASUN after dropping its conference opener at Liberty 3-0.

The Eagles are currently ranked 44th in the first NCAA RPI rankings of 2019. FGCU leads the league averaging 13.71 kills, 15.33 digs and 2.64 blocks per set. Cortney VanLiew leads the ASUN with 263 kills, averaging 4.61 per set while Dana Axner is the only player in the league to average over five digs per set (5.22).
