The Owls are coming off a pair road victories, defeating Furman (1-0) and Morehead State (2-0) on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Freshman Jenna Vollrath led Kennesaw State offensively in both matches, scoring the game-winning goal in the second half at Furman and tallying a first-half score in KSU's victory at Morehead State. Redshirt sophomore Tiffany Sornpao had a solid weekend in goal.

Tiffany Sornpao had an impressive weekend in goal while helping the Owls post a pair of shutout road victories over Furman and Morehead State. The KSU goalkeeper totaled 16 saves, including a season-high nine at Morehead State on Sunday. Through six matches this season, Sornpao has posted four shutouts

Scouting Georgia Southern
The Eagles open the week 2-4-0 after falling 1-0 to Stetson on Friday and posting a 1-0 home victory over Davidson on Sunday. Georgia Southern, which finished 8-9-2 a year ago, was picked to finish sixth in the Sun Belt Conference's preseason coaches' poll. Sophomore Brogan Boudreaux and junior Frida Brattum top the Eagles with two points each.

Series Versus Georgia Southern
Georgia Southern and Kennesaw State will meet for the fourth time on Friday, and the series in tied 1-1-1. The programs met a year ago in Macon, Georgia, and played to a 0-0 draw.

Scouting Georgia
The Bulldogs are off to a 2-2-2 start after falling 1-0 to Purdue and playing Virginia Tech to a scoreless draw in Athens over the weekend. Georgia concluded the 2017 campaign with a 4-12-2 mark, and was picked to place 14th in the SEC. Sophomore Reagan Glisson tops the Bulldogs with 10 points (4 goals, 2 assists). Prior to playing Kennesaw State on Sunday, Georgia will visit Georgia State on Friday.

Sunday's match will mark the third meeting between Georgia and Kennesaw State, and the Bulldogs lead the series, 2-0. The programs last met in 2016 and Georgia recorded a 1-0 victory in Athens.

The Owls' 5-1 start marks their best opening to a season since transitioning to NCAA Division I in 2005. Kennesaw State went 18-0 to begin its inaugural season in 2002 en route to finishing 18-0-1 while competing at the NCAA Division II level.

• Kennesaw State was picked to finish sixth in the ASUN Conference preseason coaches' poll after receiving 43 points. Defending conference champion Florida Gulf Coast topped the poll, totaling eight first-place votes and 80 points.
• Kennesaw State has scored 10 goals on the season with eight different players scoring. Jenna Vollrath and Emely Sosa top the team with two goals each.
• Redshirt sophomore Tiffany Sornpao is tied with NJIT's Amelia Sapirman with four shutouts.

A Look Back at 2017
Kennesaw State concluded the 2017 campaign with an 8-7-4 mark, including a 3-3-1 mark in ASUN Conference play. The Owls' season concluded with a 1-0 loss at Lipscomb in the semifinals of the ASUN Conference Tournament. Three Owls garnered postseason honors as seniors Abby Roth and Ashtah Das earned first and second team ASUN Conference accolades, respectively. Rookie goalkeeper Tiffany Sornpao was voted to the ASUN's All-Freshman team.
