Game Preview
The Kennesaw State women's soccer team returns to Fifth Third Bank Stadium on Friday when it hosts Jacksonville in an ASUN Conference match. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m.
 
Following Friday's contest, the Owls (8-3-1, 1-1-0) will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. to visit North Florida in a conference match on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m.
 
Kennesaw State is 5-0-1 at home this season and 6-0-2 in its last seven matches at Fifth Third Bank Stadium dating back to 2017.

Weekend Recap
Kennesaw State posted a 1-1 record last week, opening ASUN Conference play with a 2-0 victory over Liberty on Friday before falling 2-1 at North Florida on Sunday.  
 
Freshman Jenna Vollrath notched her team-leading fourth goal of the season, scoring off a deflection that hit off the crossbar following a shot by Isabella Contreras at the 21:13 mark, giving the Owls a 1-0 lead. KSU secured the victory over Liberty when Kendall Higgs drilled a shot into an open goal at the 88:18 mark.
 
North Alabama took a 1-0 lead when Tay Cavett scored in the 11th minute following an assist from Shelby Wall. The Lions extended their lead when Wall scored in the 63rd minute for the eventual-game winning score. Isabella Contreras cut the deficit in half scoring from 30 yards at the 65:09 mark. It was her first goal of the season.
 
Scouting Jacksonville
The Dolphins are currently 1-8-1 overall and 1-1-0 in ASUN Conference play. Jacksonville is coming off a 1-0 home victory over Stetson on Sunday. Midfielder Brittany Hundley has scored two of the Dolphins' six goals. Head coach Laura Kane is in her first season leading Jacksonville.
 
Series Versus Jacksonville   
Friday's contest will mark the 20th meeting between Jacksonville and Kennesaw State, and the Owls lead the all-time series, 12-7. KSU posted a 1-0 victory at Fifth Third Bank Stadium a year ago.
 
Scouting North Florida
The Ospreys enter the weekend with a 5-4-1 overall mark and an 0-1-1 record in ASUN play. North Florida is coming off a 4-0 home setback to FGCU on Sunday. Prior to facing Kennesaw State, the Owls will visit NJIT on Friday. Thais Reiss leads North Florida and ranks ninth in the ASUN with 12 points (4 goals, 4 assists). Head coach Robin Confer is in her fifth season guiding the Ospreys and has compiled an overall record of 29-42-7 record.
 
Series Versus North Florida
Kennesaw State and North Florida will meet for the 19th time on Sunday, and the Owls lead the all-time series, 12-4-2. The two programs met twice during the 2017 season with North Florida posting 1-0 victory in the regular season before playing to a scoreless draw in the ASUN Championship Tournament. KSU won in penalty kicks to advance to the semifinals.
 
Solid Start
With an 8-3-1 record, Kennesaw State has equaled its win total from a year ago when it finished the 2017 campaign 8-7-4.
 
Kennesaw State Team Notes
• Freshman Jenna Vollrath and sophomore Erin Harris lead the Owls with nine points. Vollrath, who is tied for ninth in the ASUN Conference, tops KSU with four goals. Harris is tied with Emely Sosa for the team lead with three assists.
• Vollrath is tied for the ASUN Conference lead with three game-winning goals.
• Redshirt sophomore Tiffany Sornpao leads the ASUN Conference in shutouts (6) and saves (62). Her shutout total also ranks 10th nationally.
• Sornpao has 13 career shutouts to rank third on Kennesaw State's career shutout list. The all-time mark is 37 set by Jessica Marek (2002-05).

Following Friday's match vs. Jacksonville, the Owls will travel to Jacksonville, Fla. to visit North Florida on Sunday beginning at 1 p.m. (ET).
