KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State football team was named the consensus No. 5 team in the country Monday, following its record-breaking performance against Alabama State this past Saturday.

The Owls jumped up two spots from No. 7 in the STATS FCS Top 25, while rising three spots from No. 8 in the AFCA Coaches' Top 25.

KSU is coming off a massive offensive performance against ASU in which the Owls broke the all-time scoring record with 62 points scored. The Owls posted 563 yards of total offense, the second game in a row with 500 or more yards, marking the best offensive performance since Nov. 12, 2016 against Presbyterian (567 yards).

Five different Owls found their way into the end zone, led by quarterback
Chandler Burks who recorded his second straight game with three rushing touchdowns. Freshman
Isaac Foster made his mark as well, returning the second half opening kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown, the longest return in program history.

KSU currently leads the Big South and ranks eighth in the FCS for scoring offense, averaging 43.7 points per game. Kennesaw State's 499 total yards per game ranks first in the Big South and 12th in the nation.

The Owls continue their four-game homestand this Saturday, hosting Clark Atlanta at 6 p.m.
