• Kennesaw State opens the 2018 campaign only 25 miles from its own campus when it travels across town to face Georgia State in its first game against an FBS opponent.
• Kennesaw State is coming off a historic and record-breaking season that ended with the team becoming the first to reach the FCS quarterfinals in just its third year of existence.
• Overall, Kennesaw State (12-2, 5-0 Big South) steamrolled through its season to be crowned Big South Champions, winning 12-straight games after its season opener — the longest win-streak in league history.
• The Owls haven't lost to a team from the state of Georgia in its short, three-year history, but also haven't lost when playing in the state of Georgia since Oct. 15, 2016 (684 days).
• Kennesaw State's 26 wins through three years marks the second-most dominant start to a program since 2008 and joins Old Dominion as the only other startup to produce winning seasons in its first three years.
• Kennesaw State touted the country's leading rushing attack last year, gaining 4,623 yards on 816 attempts (330.2/game) en route to a national-best 216 first downs via the ground.
• Defensively, Kennesaw State was stout, helping create the nation's top turnover margin ( 23) by creating 24 interceptions (second in FCS) — 11 more than the next Big South team.
• In total, the Owls were third in the country in turnovers gained (35), forcing 11 fumbles and intercepting 24 passes.
• In its young infancy as a program, Kennesaw State hasn't often faced opponents from its home state of Georgia, however, it has yet to drop a matchup.
• Looking to improve to 5-0 this season against opponents from the Peach State, as both Georgia State and Clark Atlanta are on the 2018 schedule.
• KSU's last win against a Georgia opponent came against Clark Atlanta in 2016, when the Owls blanked the Panthers, 56-0.
