KENNESAW, Ga. – Recent Kennesaw State men's basketball graduate Nick Masterson has signed a professional contract with Netherlands-based Aris Leeuwarden, the organization announced this week.

Aris Leeuwarden has been a member of the Netherlands' highest professional basketball league, the Dutch Professional League, since 2004, reaching the finals in 2013.

"Nick is clearly one of the best shooters that's ever attended and played for Kennesaw State and I'm happy for him because I think all of his hard work has been rewarded," Kennesaw State head coach Al Skinner said. "I'm very happy for him because I know he wanted the opportunity to continue to play and I know he'll make the most of it."

Masterson recently finished up his collegiate career as an Owl, averaging 15.8 points per game and leading the team with 96 assists. Earning second-team all-ASUN honors, he finished third in league-game scoring at 19.8 points per contest.

The Woodstock, Ga. native made his calling card from downtown last season, finishing his career as one of the greatest three-point shooters in ASUN history, making over 48 percent of his attempts from deep. Saving the best for his senior season, Masterson was the NCAA Division I's top marksmen, hitting a blistering 54.7 percent of his three-pointers.

Also a standout student in the classroom, Masterson was named ASUN Scholar of the Year and CoSIDA Academic All-District his junior and senior seasons.
