Kristi Piedimonte is one of the ASUN's NCAA Woman of the Year Nominees after her incredible season on and off the court.
The NCAA Woman of the Year program honors the academic achievements, athletics excellence, community service and leadership of graduating female college athletes from all three divisions. To be eligible, a nominee must have competed and earned a varsity letter in an NCAA-sponsored sport, must have completed eligibility in her primary sport, and must have earned her undergraduate degree by Summer 2018.
Piedimonte became the first Kennesaw State student-athlete to be named ASUN CoSIDA First Team Academic All-America honors after graduating in December with a perfect 4.0 GPA as a nursing major.
She capped off a tremendous career her senior season by helping lead the Owls to their first NCAA Tournament. Kennesaw State had its best season in program history going 21-5 and 13-1 in ASUN play. The Owls won their first ASUN Tournament and their second straight ASUN Regular Season Championship. Piedimonte was named ASUN Setter and Scholar of the Year after averaging 10.6 assists per set.
