KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State head women's soccer coach Benji Walton has added to his 2018 roster with the addition of Kendall Higgs and Lauren Wilson.
 
Higgs (Loxahatchee, Fla. / Oxbirdge Academy) is a sophomore transfer from Pitt, while Wilson (Marietta, Ga. / Pope HS) joined the program in January after initially enrolling at Marshall and will be a redshirt freshman this fall.
 
The following is a capsule on each student-athlete.
 
Kendall Higgs (Midfielder, 5-9, Loxahatchee, Fla. / Oxbridge Academy / Pitt)
 2017 (At Pitt): Played a consistent role in the Panther midfield in her true freshman season . . . Played in all 18 games, earning nine starts . . . Started against Illinois State (Sept. 3), Virginia Tech (Sept. 21), Duke (Sept. 24), Virginia (Oct. 1), Syracuse (Oct. 5), NC State (Oct. 8), Louisville (Oct. 13), Florida State (Oct. 22) and Boston College (Oct. 23) . . . Attempted 16 shots on the season, four of which were on goal . . . High School: Played for Oxbridge Academy before electing to finish as a home educated student . . . Graduated early after three and a half years of high school . . . Totaled 19 goals and five assists in her first two seasons, playing as a center back . . . Transitioned to central midfield in her junior season . . . Chipped in five goals and eight assists as a junior . . . Was named first team all-county all three years Earned the distinction of Winter All-Star State Team from Top Drawer Soccer as a sophomore and junior . . . Played club soccer with the Royal Palm Beach Strikers, Team Boca White and Boca United FC '97/'98 . . . Finished the 2015-16 season with 11 goals and six assists as a member of Boca United . . . Played on the Olympic Development Program Florida Team as well as the ODP Florida State A Team from 2012-16.

"I think Kendall is going to be another great addition to our team culture here at KSU. Not only does she bring a wealth of experience having started and played in every ACC contest for Pitt as a freshman, but she is a soccer junkie. She can't get enough of the game. I think her passion will be contagious and combining that with her tremendous work ethic will have a big impact on our team the second she steps into training."
 
Lauren Wilson (Midfielder, 5-4, Marietta, Ga. / Pope HS / Marshall)
Enrolled at Marshall in the fall of 2017 but did not compete during the championship season . . . Enrolled at Kennesaw State in January . . . A four-year starter at Pope High School in Marietta, Ga. . . . Helped the Greyhound to a regional championship in 2014 . . . Selected second team all-region as a junior (2016) and first team all-region as a senior (2017) . . . Also tabbed All-Cobb County by the Marietta Daily Journal and team Most Valuable Player following senior campaign . . . Played club soccer for NASA Tophat where she helped the team to the 2015 Georgia state championship . . . A member of the Georgia Olympic Development Program.
 
Walton on Wilson
"Lauren is a fierce competitor who can play in multiple positions for us. Her experience is mainly as a midfielder but her presence on the ball combined with her excellent ability to win balls out of the air, will prove valuable wherever she plays on the field."
 
Higgs and Walton add to a list of newcomers to the 2018 roster that also include February signees Lexi Labonte (Ormond Beach, Fla. / Spruce Creek High School), Dylan Pixton (Longwood, Fla. / Lyman High School), Sydney Sauer (Winter Springs, Fla. / Winter Springs High School), Jenna Vollrath (Cumming, Ga. / South Forsyth High School) and Danielle Vos (Istanbul, Turkey / British International School Istanbul).
