THE STORYLINE:
· Kennesaw State dropped its finale in Stillwell Stadium to No. 4 Clemson 7-2 in front of 1,282 fans.
Starting pitcher
Ryan Kennedy limited the Tigers to just three runs in five innings on seven hits.
Matt Mixon also took advantage of getting the start in center field going 2-4 and had his first two stolen bases of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Both teams starting pitchers came out strong holding each team scoreless through the first three innings.
· Clemson got on the board with two runs in the fourth inning and one run in the fifth inning to go up 3-0.
· Kennesaw State scored its first run after Mixon got a single, stole second and then came around on a throwing error by the Tigers.
· The Owls struck again the next inning as
LaDonis Bryant got the Owls within one with a two-out solo shot.
· In the eighth and KSU once again trailing by two runs, they tried to start a two-out rally with a pair of walks, but couldn't do any damage from there stranding two men on base.
· Clemson put any chance at rallying to rest with three runs in the ninth to go up 7-2.
UP NEXT
Kennesaw State will close out the regular season against Jacksonville on the road beginning on Thursday, May 17 at 7 p.m.
