KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State baseball team dropped its series opener at Jacksonville University Thursday evening, falling 5-2 at Sessions Stadium in ASUN action.
THE BASICS
Records:Â Kennesaw State (25-26, 11-8), Jacksonville (35-17, 12-6)

THE STORYLINES:
· Kennesaw State stranded nine runners in the game, including five in scoring position. The Owls went just 2-of-15 at the plate with runners on base.

· AJ Moore made his 13th start of the year and punched out six batters to record six-plus strikeouts for the seventh time this season.

· KSU pitchers combined to record 10 strikeouts, marking the sixth time this year in conference play the Owls tallied double-digit strikeouts.
HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
· The Owls scored their first run of the game without the benefit of a hit in the third inning, as
LaDonis Bryant worked a lead-off walk, recorded his team-leading 12th and 13th stolen bases of the year and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Tyler Simon.

· KSU tacked on another run in the eighth inning when
Terence Norman reached on an error to send
Grant Williams home and make it 5-2.

· The Owls threatened in their final at-bat, but Bryant was stranded on third to end the game.
