THE STORYLINE:
· Kennesaw State got off to a great start against NJIT scoring four runs in the first inning, but NJIT tagged the Owls for eight runs in the fourth through the sixth inning to take control of the game.

After that first inning where the Owls scored four runs on four hits, they had trouble getting anything going on the offensive end after that.

AJ Moore pitched five innings making him the career record holder for innings pitched in Kennesaw State DI history.

The loss is the first one on a Friday night for Kennesaw State in ASUN play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
· Kennesaw State scored four runs in the first inning with three of them coming before they recorded an out.
· Grant Williams got the first run in and a Jaylen Smith single got two more runs across in that first inning. The final run came on a Griffin Helms sacrifice fly to give the Owls a 4-0 early lead.
· Neither team struck again until the fourth when NJIT got two runs on the board. They kept that momentum for the next two innings scoring three runs in each to go up 8-4 on the Owls.
· In the bottom of the eighth, the Owls threatened with two runners on, but couldn't get a run across as NJIT got out of the jam unscathed to preserved their four-run lead.
· David Chabut and Tyler Simon both did their part at the top of the lineup going a combined 5-8 at the plate.
