JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The No.5 Kennesaw State men's tennis team fell 4-1 at No.1 North Florida on Saturday (Apr.21) in the ASUN Semifinals at the UNF Tennis Complex.

"I want to thank the seniors for their hard work and loyalty to the program," Director of Tennis Eduardo Rincon said. "They did an excellent job of leading this team through some rocky times."
 
UNF won two doubles matches and came out on top in three of four singles matches that were completed.

"UNF played a solid match today," Rincon said. "We played solid as well, but they played better than us at some bigger points."
 
Lucas de Torres Curth and Corey Smith defeated  Nilo Duarte andAlberto De Meo 6-1 at No.3 doubles.
 
The reigning ASUN Player of the Year, Fermin Calvo Barcelo was able to defeat Jefta Kecic 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 to win his 15th consecutive singles match.

"What Fermin did this season, with 15 straight wins at the No.1 position, is truly remarkable, " Rincon said.  
 
Drew Lahey and Harrison Wood both advanced their matches to the third set but, were unable to finish due to the Ospreys clinching the match.
 
This marked the final match for seniors Manuel Castellanos and Corey Smith.
  
The Owls will begin prepping for the 2018-19 season, which begins in the fall.
