JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team advanced to the ASUN Semifinals with a 4-1 win over Lipscomb on Friday (Apr.20) at the UNF Tennis Complex.

"Today was a great team victory," director of tennis Eduardo Rincon said. "The doubles point was crucial and the guys stepped up and won it. In singles, once we got ahead on courts one, four and five we never turned back. Today we did what we needed to do. Now we have to start preparing for North Florida." 
 
The Owls advance to the Semifinals of the ASUN Tournament for the second time in program history. KSU reached the semifinals back in 2016 after beating Stetson 4-3.

The Owls grabbed the doubles point as Fermin Calvo Barcelo and Manuel Castellanos (KSU) def. Alejandro Manzanares and Victor Chaw 6-2 at No.1 doubles. Drew Lahey and Bryan Triana sieged the point when they took down Jorge Ortegon/Francesco Tacconi  6-4 at No.2 doubles.
 
ASUN Player of the Year, Fermin Calvo Barcelo defeated Alejandro Manzanares  6-4, 6-0 to pick up his 14^th straight win.
Bryan Triana rolled to a straight-sets win over Daniel Cardenas 6-3, 6-3.

Drew Lahey clinched the match for the Owls dropping Pedro Uribe 7-6 (7-3), 6-3.
 
The Owls (9-10) will face No.1 North Florida at 9 a.m. in the ASUN Semifinals at the UNF Tennis complex on Saturday (Apr.21).
