FORT MYERS, Fla. –
Kira Czyrklis hit a home run and drove in four runs, and
Alley Cutting pitched a shutout to lead the Kennesaw State softball team to a 6-0 victory and series win over Florida Gulf Coast Sunday in Fort Myers.

The Owls (31-14, 10-2) won their fourth straight ASUN Conference series and posted their first series victory over the Eagles (30-14, 4-5) in Fort Myers.

Czyrklis, who hit .500 (5-for-10) with four runs scored, two doubles, a pair of home runs and six RBIs during the three games, put Kennesaw State on top in the third inning with a two-out, three-run home run to left-center field.

The Owls added to their lead in the fifth as Czyrklis singled home a run and
Alexa Solorzano produced a two-run single to highlight a three-run inning that increased KSU's lead to 6-0.

Cutting (11-7) worked out of a bases-loaded, one-out jam in the second inning before completing the afternoon with a seven-inning, six-hit, five-strikeout performance. In two starts versus Florida Gulf Coast, the Owls' right-hander worked 13 scoreless innings, scattered nine hits and struck out 15 while not walking a batter.

Kennesaw State returns to action on Wednesday when it visits Georgia State at 6 p.m.
