Game Preview
The Owls begin ASUN play against Coastal Carolina and Old Dominion. The first game is against the Chanticleers on Friday, April 13 at 2 p.m.
Last season, Coastal defeated Kennesaw State by a narrow margin of 14-11.
This year, they have started out 5-7 and are 2-1 in ASUN play.
On Sunday, Kennesaw State will celebrate six seniors before the game for Senior Day. The first 250 fans will received t-shirts.
Kennesaw State Team Notes
• The Owls ended non-conference play by going 1-1 in the final weekend topping Wofford and just getting edged out by Furman in overtime. It was the second overtime game that the Owls have had this season and the third one-goal game that KSU has had this season.
• The team scored early and often against Wofford building an 8-0 lead in the first half. The Owls ended up finishing with 21 goals to set a season high.
• There were 13 players that scored against Wofford including seven that had one goal.
•
Siena Gore set a new single-season record for goals with her 47th against Furman. She had six for the entire weekend with three coming against Wofford and three coming against Furman.
• With one more win, head coach
Laura Maness will become the all-time winningest coach in program history. She will be the all-time winningest coach at two different programs as she also is at Detroit.
• Gore isn't only leading the conference in a bunch of categories, but she's also one of the best in the nation in goals per game, draw controls per game and free-position goals per game. She is third in the country in free-position goals per game, eighth in the country in goals per game and ninth in the country in draw controls per game.
• The ASUN has a different look this year as the old ASUN split into two conferences. Remaining in the ASUN lacrosse league this season are Jacksonville, Coastal Carolina, Stetson, Old Dominion and Howard.
• After already breaking one single-season record, Gore has her sites set on another one that is also an ASUN record. She currently sits at 83 draw controls for the season and is only eight away from the previous record with five regular season games remaining. Gore is averaging almost seven draw controls per game.
• Palermo is the second leading scorer on the Owls with 21 goals on the season.
• A big reason for the team being successful at draw controls has been
Abby Squires. She is second on the team with 32 draw controls, but she's also very successful in directing the ball Gore's way who has 83 draw controls.
•
Haley Swift is closing in on 100 career points. After five points last weekend, she sits at 97 career points. She would become the fifth player in Kennesaw State history to surpass the 100-point mark.

Kennesaw State will travel to Florida to take on Stetson on Friday, April 20 and Jacksonville on Sunday, April 22.
