ATHENS, Ga. – The Kennesaw State softball team was limited to a pair of hits and fell 4-1 to No. 6 Georgia Wednesday at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens.

After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning, the Owls (22-12) tied the score in the second on an RBI single by
Jessie Mullen.

The score remained tied until the fifth inning when the Bulldogs (30-3) went ahead 2-1 on an infield out.

Kennesaw State threatened in the top of the sixth, putting two runners on base with one out, but a double play ended the inning.
Â
Georgia added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth, scoring twice with two outs to build a 4-1 lead.

Sophomore
Alley Cutting (7-6) started in the circle for the Owls and suffered the loss after scattering 10 hits, allowing four runs, walking one and striking out two.

Kennesaw State returns to action on Friday when it hosts North Florida in an ASUN Conference doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
