ATHENS, Ga. – The Kennesaw State softball team was limited to a pair of hits and fell 4-1 to No. 6 Georgia Wednesday at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens.

After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the first inning, the Owls (22-12) tied the score in the second on an RBI single by Jessie Mullen.

The score remained tied until the fifth inning when the Bulldogs (30-3) went ahead 2-1 on an infield out.

Kennesaw State threatened in the top of the sixth, putting two runners on base with one out, but a double play ended the inning.

Georgia added a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth, scoring twice with two outs to build a 4-1 lead.

Sophomore Alley Cutting (7-6) started in the circle for the Owls and suffered the loss after scattering 10 hits, allowing four runs, walking one and striking out two.
