Kennesaw State Team Notes
• Kennesaw State got a home win over Quinnipiac with a big second half that saw the Owls outscore the Bobcats 9-2 to secure the 12-5 victory. It was the first home win of the season for KSU.
• The Owls defense was swarming the entire game holding Quinnipiac to only five goals. That is the least amount of goals they have allowed all season.  The stifling defense held the Bobcats to only two goals in the second half allowing the Owls to go on an 8-0 run and break the game wide open.
• Another huge advantage the Owls had against Quinnipiac was on the draw. Kennesaw State won 14 draw controls to just four for Quinnipiac. That is the largest difference that Kennesaw State has had this season. KSU has been really good on the draw this season averaging 14.57 per game. That is the 25th best in the country.
Siena Gore scored four more goals against Quinnipiac and won seven draw controls. She leads the team in both categories with 29 goals and 50 draw controls. She also is tied for the team lead with 19 ground balls.
• Gore doesn't only lead the Owls in multiple categories, but she is one of the best in the country in several categories as well. She is ninth in the country in draw controls averaging 7.14 per game and ninth in the country in goals per game with 4.14. Gore has also been deadly on free-position attempts as she is second in the country in free-position goals scoring 2.57 goals per game.
• A big reason for the team being successful at draw controls has been Abby Squires. She is second on the team with 19 draw controls, but she's also very successful in directing the ball Gore's way.
Izzy Palermo is second on the team with 15 goals. She has scored in every game this season and has scored multiple goals in six of the seven games. A season ago she finished with 26 goals.
• Every player that scored for the Owls against Quinnipiac scored multiple goals.
Haley Swift made her return to the lineup against Winthrop and scored an early goal to give Kennesaw State a 2-0 lead. She chipped in with two more goals against Quinnipiac.
• The game against Duke is the last non-conference game for the Owls.
