KENNESAW, Ga. – Home runs by Maddie Roth, Kira Czyrklis and Raleigh Williams supported a solid outing in the circle by Alley Cutting as the Kennesaw State softball team defeated Georgia State, 8-0, for its ninth straight victory Wednesday at Bailey Park.

Roth went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs, and Czyrklis had two hits, while Williams collected a pair of RBIs on a walk-off home run in the bottom of the sixth inning. The three home runs by the Owls increased their season total to an ASUN Conference-leading 19.

Meanwhile, Cutting (5-4) continued her outstanding pitching, working six innings, scattering six hits and striking out four while not walking a batter.

The KSU right-hander's only difficult inning came in the fourth when the Panthers (13-11) put two runners in scoring position with no outs and loaded the bases with one out before Cutting worked out of trouble en route to extending her streak of consecutive innings without allowing an earned run to 22.

Kennesaw State provided Cutting with all the run support she would need in the first inning as the Owls sent eight batters to the plate and scored four runs on five hits.

Olivia Tamewitz extended her career-long hitting streak to 16 games with a leadoff single and Noelle Winkles followed with a base hit before Roth, Patricia Awald and Czyrklis hit consecutive doubles to give the Owls a 4-0 lead.

Roth opened the third with a home run that increased the Owls' lead to 5-0. Czyrklis homered to lead off the sixth and one out later, Jessie Mullen singled ahead of Williams' pinch-hit home run to right field.
