NEWARK, N.J. – Led by freshmen Alexis Poole and Kamiyah Street, the Kennesaw State women's basketball team rallied with a strong second half to defeat NJIT, 61-58, Wednesday at the NJIT Wellness and Events Center in Newark, N.J.

Street scored 17 of her game-high 21 points, including the game-winning basket with :03 remaining, in the second half to lift the Owls (7-13, 3-6) to the come-from-behind victory. Poole turned in her second straight double-double and sixth of the season after scoring 15 points and totaling 13 rebounds.

Trailing 55-54, Street recorded a steal and scored on a layup to give Kennesaw State its first lead of the game at 56-55 with 1:29 remaining. After Poole provided the Owls with a 58-56 lead, NJIT (3-21, 1-8) tied the game with :15 remaining.

Kennesaw State then called a timeout, and following the inbounds, got the ball to Street, who drove the lane, scored the basket, was fouled, and made the free throw to complete the three-point play.

KSU also received another solid performance from sophomore Carlotta Gianolla, who contributed 15 points and eight rebounds.
