THE STORYLINE:Â
· After trailing by two at halftime, Marquette scored the first four goals in the second half to take a 12-6 lead. The Owls tried to mount a comeback getting within three, but despite four goals from
Siena Gore, Kennesaw State came up short in their first road game of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
· Marquette scored the first three goals of the game, but the Owls didn't panic as they responded with three straight goals of their own to tie the score.
· After the Owls tied the score up, Marquette jumped out to a two-goal lead and the two teams traded goals back and forth until halftime. MU led 8-6 at the break.
· To start the second half, Marquette scored the first four goals to take their largest lead of the game up 12-6.
· KSU wasn't ready to throw the towel in though as they scored three straight goals to get back within three, but couldn't get any closer than that.
· With the Owls pressing, Marquette ended up scoring the final two goals to take the victory 15-10.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:Â
· This is the second straight game that Kennesaw State has scored double-figure goals.
· Freshman
Siena Gore once again led the way on offense scoring four goals for the second straight game. She also won a team leading six draw controls.
·
Izzy Palermo had a good day winning five draw controls and scoring two goals. That is the most draw controls she has won in a game this season.
· Kennesaw State won 15 draw controls to Marquette's 12 in the game. A big part of that was Gore and Palermo. They both combined to win 11 of the 15 draw controls the Owls won on the day.
·
Maura Palandro had a career day on defense causing four turnovers and picking up five ground balls. The four caused turnovers are a career high in a game for the sophomore.
·
RoseAnna Schiemer also had a good game on the defensive end causing three turnovers and picking up three ground balls.
· For the third game in a row,
Lauren Hoffman came up with 10 saves in the net.

Kennesaw State will stay on the road and travel to East Carolina to play on March 1. The first draw will be at 6 p.m.
