Abby Deane was impressive in the circle as the Kennesaw State softball team defeated LIU Brooklyn 10-0 in six innings to close out play at the Orange Blossom Tournament Sunday at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

Making her first start for the Owls (2-3), Deane allowed three hit and struck out two over six innings.

Czyrklis finished the day 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while Winkles went 2-for-4 with a career-high five RBIs. Freshmen
Patricia Awald and
Meredith Milam, and sophomore
Katey Lynch had two hits apiece for Kennesaw State.
Czyrklis led off the fourth with a home run to highlight a three-run inning, and the Owls broke open the game in the sixth, sending 13 batters to the plate and scoring seven runs on seven hits.

Kennesaw State makes its 2018 home debut on Friday when it hosts Rutgers during the first day of the Bobbie Bailey Memorial Tournament at Bailey Park. The two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
