Game Preview
After opening the season with two games at home, Kennesaw State will now travel for the first time in 2018 to take on Marquette up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Sunday, February 18 at 1 p.m.

This will be the second meeting between the two teams. The Owls hosted Marquette last season at Fifth Third Bank Stadium dropping the contest.

Marquette also opened last season and is 1-2 after losing to Johns Hopkins and Louisville and defeating ASUN foe Central Michigan 19-7.

Kennesaw State Team Notes
• In
Laura Maness' first season as head coach, she led the Owls to their best season in program history finishing with eight wins after upsetting Furman in the team's final game.
• KSU returns 22 players from a season ago while welcoming 12 newcomers to the team.
• Junior
Haley Swift and senior
Connor Zophy were both named to the ASUN Preseason All-Conference Team. Swift led the team a season ago with 66 points with 37 goals and 29 assists. Zophy finished third on the team with 55 points scoring 29 goals and 26 assists. Both players set career highs with those numbers last season.
• Kennesaw State and Vanderbilt have played every season since the Owls started their program in 2013. The four-point margin of victory was the smallest between the two teams in the six meetings. Over the first five meetings, Vanderbilt won by an average of 15.8 goals.
• To start the season, freshman
Siena Gore made a huge impact in the first two games. She leads the team with six goals, 13 draw controls and seven ground balls. In her first collegiate action against Arizona State, she netted two goals and followed that up with four goals against Vanderbilt.
• The Owls offense was prolific last season scoring over 20 goals in six games and averaging 14.53 goals per game. That mark finished top 20 in the entire country. In one of those games, Kennesaw State scored 26 goals, which was the most in the NCAA last season.
•
Lauren Hoffman got the start in goal against Arizona State and Vanderbilt. She made 10 saves in both games for the Owls. Last season, the goalies had one game with double-digit saves.
• Sophomore
Izzy Palermo made a big impact in her freshman season on the offensive end. She finished the season with 30 points scoring 26 goals and four assists while also winning 29 draw controls and winning 28 ground balls. She got off to a great start in 2018, scoring three goals in the opening weekend.
• There are six seniors on this team with Zophy,
Laura Jordan,
RoseAnna Schiemer,
Emily Hallberg,
Monica Albertson and Kaitlyn Moran.
• In all, the Owls have 12 players returning this season that started at least one game last season. Four of those 12 started every game last season.

The Owls will stay on the road and travel to East Carolina to play on March 1 at 6 p.m.
