Alexis Poole scored 14 points,
Erica Moore added a career-high nine points, and
Amani Johnson collected a personal-high seven rebounds to lead the Kennesaw State women's basketball team during a 68-56 loss to East Carolina Sunday at Williams Arena at Minges Coliseum.

Trailing 42-39 heading into the fourth quarter, the Pirates (4-0) outscored the Owls (2-3), 26-17 in the final period to take command of a close game. KSU was held without a field goal the final 3:12 of the game as ECU used a late 6-0 run to take a 68-55 lead with :37 remaining.

The Owls trailed 27-21 at halftime and were led by Johnson, who had four points and three assists. KSU hit a cold spell late in the second quarter as it went the final 7:37 of the period without a field goal.
Kennesaw State regained its touch in the third quarter, shooting 40 percent from the field and making 6 of 10 free throws to outscore East Carolina, 18-15, in the period and cut the deficit to three points.
NOTEWORTHY
- Kamiyah Street and Carlotta Gianolla each had nine points for the Owls, while Poole and Simina Avram had five rebounds apiece.
- East Carolina shot 43 percent from the field, while Kennesaw State connected on 39 percent (20-for-51) of its field goal attempts.

Kennesaw State will travel to Cancun, Mexico, this week to compete in the Cancun Challenge. The Owls open with Idaho State on Thanksgiving Day beginning at 9 p.m. (ET). They will conclude tournament play versus Michigan State Friday at 9 p.m. (ET).
