FB: Owls Set For Road Battle at Charleston Southern

KENNESAW, Ga. - The No. 2 Kennesaw State football team is fresh off a bye week and set to return to Big South Conference play Saturday evening, traveling to Charleston Southern for a 6 p.m. matchup with the Buccaneers.

Top Storylines
• Kennesaw State is looking to become the third team in Big South history and the first program in the last 10 years to win consecutive conference titles with an undefeated record in league play.

• The Owls are 1-2 all-time against CSU, falling to the Bucs each of the first two seasons and then routing CSU 38-0 last year.

• During Kennesaw State's current six-game winning streak, it has outscored opponents 317-63, allowing just 10.5 points per game during the stretch. 

• During the first five games of its current win-streak, KSU became the first team in Big South history to limit five consecutive opponents to 13 points or less.

• KSU has the third-longest active home winning streak in FCS and is one of five programs with a winning streak of 10 or more games.

• KSU has not lost a regular-season game to an FCS opponent since Aug. 31, 2017, winning 14 straight to tie the Big South record.

• With 17 rushing TD's this year, Chandler Burks leads all FCS and FBS players and is on pace to set the Big South record for rushing scores in a season (26).

• Isaac Foster is currently the only player in the nation at the FCS or FBS level with two 100-yard kickoff returns for a touchdown this year.

• The Owls have forced a turnover in 21 straight games dating back to last season, and have recorded an interception in 19 of those 21 contests.

• The Owls have given up just seven points all season in the third quarter, outscoring opponents 110-7.

• KSU has scored on its first possession of the second half in six games this year, with five of those being touchdowns.

• The 56 points scored in each of the last two games are the two highest point productions the Owls have ever had in league play.

Noting Charleston Southern
• Charleston Southern is 3-3 on the year and 1-0 in the Big South after winning its league opener against Presbyterian, 41-7.

• In its past two games, CSU has outscored opponents 99-13.

• The Buccaneers are second in the Big South in total defense, holding opponents to an average of 301 yards per game.

• CSU leads the conference in passing defense, limiting opposing teams to 121.5 yards through the air.

• Running back Terrance Wilson and quarterback London Johnson lead the team and rank seventh in the Big South with four rushing touchdowns this season.
