FGCU Recap
Sophomore Abi Hunt's first career goal was a big one as it proved to be the decisive score as Kennesaw State defeated defending ASUN Conference Champion Florida Gulf Coast, 1-0, Sunday at Fifth Third Bank Stadium. The lone score of the match came midway through the first half when Morgan Harrison delivered a ball to Hunt, who drilled a shot from 20 yards out and into the upper left-corner of the goal at the 22:36 mark. The second half was played mostly on the Kennesaw State half of the field as FGCU applied pressure throughout the final 45 minutes, but the Owls' defense withstood the challenge to post the shutout.

Hunt Named ASUN Player of the Week
Sophomore defender Abi Hunt has been named the ASUN Conference women's soccer Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday (Oct. 8). It marks her first career conference honor. Hunt had a solid weekend in the back for the Owls, who went 2-0, posting wins over Stetson and FGCU that helped Kennesaw State clinch an ASUN Conference Championship berth. Hunt's play was key in leading KSU to a 1-0 victory over FGCU on Sunday as the Owls posted their first win over the Eagles since 2007. In addition to her stout defensive play, Hunt scored the game-winning goal, which marked the first goal of her career.

Scouting NJIT
NJIT begins the weekend with a 10-4-1 overall record, including a 4-2-0 mark in ASUN play. The Highlanders trail the Owls by three points in the standings. NJIT had its season-high four-match winning streak snapped on Sunday following a 4-2 setback to Stetson. NJIT's goalkeeper Amelia Sapirman ranks second in the ASUN with eight shutouts. Head coach Ally Nick is in her third year leading the Highlanders and has compiled a 25-21-4 record.

Series Versus NJIT
Saturday's match will mark the fourth meeting between Kennesaw State and NJIT, with the Owls leading the all-time series, 3-0. KSU defeated the Highlanders, 2-1, last season in Kennesaw.
