HOW IT HAPPENED:

Early in the second set, Kennesaw State went on a 5-1 run to take a 12-9 lead forcing UK to use a timeout. The Owls continued their run out of the timeout stretching it out to 9-2 going up 16-10.

Kentucky fought back on their home court tying the score at 23 and 24 before Kennesaw State ran off two straight points to claim the second set and even the match up at one set a piece.

In the third set, KSU took an early 6-3 lead, but Kentucky went on a run and took control from there. The Wildcats built up a comfortable lead and claimed the set 25-15.

Trailing in the match 2-1, Kennesaw State kept it close for most of the fourth, but Kentucky surged in the middle of the set to close out the match.

Schunzel On the match:
"I couldn't be more proud of our team. It took a set to adjust to Kentucky's height and physicality at the net, but once we did that, it was game on. We not only battled and scrapped like we always do, but we executed at a really high level for much of the match on both sides of the ball.

On Maddie Jones:
Another huge performance from Maddie Jones, who we've given so much responsibility to with passing, defending, serving and attacking. She's playing with an impressive amount of confidence right now, and it's awesome to watch.

On Alex Huber:
Alex Huber came off the bench and made some big plays tonight with her serving, defense and presence.
