Final Results
Sacramento, Calif. – Sophomore
Jordan Gray grabbed 13th place in the heptathlon at the USATF Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hornet Stadium on the campus of Sacramento State University on Saturday.
Gray finished with 5640 points in her first USATF Outdoor Championships. She came up short in her attempt to qualify for the IAAF World Championships in London in August.
She opened day two of the heptathlon with a leap of 5.76m (18'10.75) in the long jump which was good for 12th place in the event.
The sophomore launched the javelin 38.52m (126'4) to finish ninth in the event.
In the final event of the heptathlon, she ran a time of 2:26.27 good for 13th overall in the 800m.
Former Owl
Andre Dorsey finished 18
th in the men's long jump with a leap of 7.43m (24'4.5) coming up short of qualifying for the World Championships.
Gray will return to action in the heptathlon at the 2017 Capital Cup Combined Events Championships in Ottawa, Canada on July 3-4.
Joshua Mulder is scheduled to compete in the decathlon at this event. The men's team for this event will be coached by KSU Director of Track and Field and Cross Country
