JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Kennesaw State, which entered the weekend as the ASUN Conference's top-hitting team, ran into some tough pitching and dropped a doubleheader to North Florida Saturday in Jacksonville.

The Owls (27-12, 4-4) fell 6-3 in the opener and were limited to just three hits during a 2-1 setback in the nightcap.

North Florida (23-16, 4-1) was led by Logan Green and Morgan Blourne, who combined to limit Kennesaw State to eight hits on the day.

A five-run fifth by the Ospreys was the difference in game one as they took advantage of four hits, including a pair of two-run doubles, against Alley Cutting (14-6) to turn a 1-0 lead into a 6-0 advantage.

Courtney Sutter and Noelle Winkles led the Owls offensively with two hits and a run scored, while Sutter also drove in a run.

After taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first of game two on back-to-back doubles by Olivia Tamewitz and Lynch, Blourne limited the Owls to just a Sutter single over the final six innings.

North Florida answered with two runs in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 lead against Logan Viers (9-5), who scattered five hits, walked two and struck out three in six innings.

Kennesaw State will look to salvage the final game of the series Sunday at 1 p.m.
