THE STORYLINE:Â
· Kennesaw State's four-run eighth inning pushed Auburn late at Hitchcock Field, but ultimately fell to the Tigers 6-4 Wednesday evening on SEC Network Plus.
· The Owls were held scoreless until the top of the eighth, plating four runs on five hits and tied the game until Auburn answered with two in the bottom half to earn the non-conference victory.
· With the loss, KSU dropped to 6-6 overall on the season while Auburn improved to 10-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED:Â
· The Owls trailed the entire game until the top of the eighth, plating four runs on four straight singles to tie the ballgame at 4-4.
· In the inning, Kennesaw State brought nine to the plate which included key RBI singles off the bats of
Grant Williams,
Austin Upshaw, and
Jeremy Howell to even the game.
· Auburn responded in the bottom half, scoring two unearned runs to take a two-run lead into the final frame and proved to be enough.
· LHP
Mason Ward (1-1), who hails from Canton, Ga., was solid throughout his second start of the season, allowing three runs in 5.0 innings.Â
· Seven Owls recorded a hit on the day, as Upshaw (3-for-4, RBI), Williams (1-for-4, two RBI), and Howell (1-for-4, RBI) paced the lineup offensively.

Austin Upshaw and
Taylor Allum continued their hitting ways through 12 games, as both recorded at least a hit Wednesday afternoon. Upshaw has now totaled at least one hit in 10 of his 12 starts, while Allum extended his hitting streak to six games.

Jake Franklin recorded a single at Auburn, marking his eighth hit of the season. He has tallied at least a hit in six of his 10 games played.
