The Owls continue arguably their toughest stretch of games in 2017, welcoming Georgia to campus for the final game of their home-and-home series with the Bulldogs. Kennesaw State is coming off a three-game weekend series with No. 12 Oklahoma, and has also played Auburn over the past week. The midweek tilt is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and will be aired on ESPN3 with Nathan McCreary and Scott Whitlock on the call.

ON DECK

  1. Kennesaw State continues its non-conference slate, welcoming in-state Power 5 foe Georgia to Kennesaw for a rematch and final game of its scheduled home-and-home series in 2017.
  2. The Owls defeated the Bulldogs at Foley Field back on February 28, 5-4. It marked the second time in KSU program history the Owls defeated Georgia in Athens in back-to-back years (2013-14), and have now won at Foley Field in four of the past five seasons.
  3. Head Coach Mike Sansing is back for his 26th season with the Black and Gold. He is the second-youngest coach on the 1,000-win list, and is one of 13 active coaches with 1,000 victories who have coaches at least 10 seasons of D-I baseball.
  4. The skipper won his 950th game last Thursday (March 16) at Western Carolina, taking a 12-3 non-conference tilt at Hennon Stadium. The win also snapped a three-game losing skid in Cullowhee, N.C.
  5. Taylor Allum and Griffin Helms hit back-to-back solo home runs in the fourth inning Sunday afternoon versus #12 Oklahoma. Allum extended his hitting streak to six games and has reached base safely 14 straight games, while Helms tallied his third home runs of the season and eighth of his career.
  6. Gabe Friese made an appearance out of the bullpen Sunday afternoon, recording 0.2 innings. He now sits 1.2 frames shy of becoming KSU's all-time leader in innings thrown.
  7. Three Kennesaw State Owls have tallied hitting streaks of three of more games over a two-week stretch, with Taylor Allum (6), Grant Williams (5), Austin Upshaw (4) and Chris Erwin (3) holding the hot bats in the lineup.
  8. KSU plays a total of 56 games in the regular season, 33 of them coming at home and 23 on the road. The Owls take on 16 (eight home, eight away) midweek tilts and opens ASUN action on the road at North Florida on March 31.
  9. The Owls return 26 members from 2016, a team that won 17 games in the ASUN and became the first team since 2010 (FGCU) to win each regular-season conference series.
